Communities
We recognise the importance of engaging with communities that live within the vicinity of our project and whose livelihoods and identity are embedded in the region.
Consultation opportunities
We are committed to providing meaningful opportunities for communities and stakeholders to inform project development and will seek to engage with them early and often. See our events page here for up-to-date information on forthcoming consultation events.
We will engage in consultation from the outset, using a variety of channels to provide regular updates about the project development phase and seek feedback.
There will be many opportunities for public engagement in relation to:
environmental surveys,
onshore and offshore works,
community benefit opportunities.
Offshore wind projects can provide long-term benefits for local communities and industry.
We will explore ways to deliver these benefits through ongoing collaboration with local stakeholders.
All consultation activities will be underpinned by these engagement principles:
Engage early and often |
Speak with
community regularly and share project updates in a timely manner.
Be proactive in sharing information on the project. |
---|---|
Establish open dialogue |
Listen with an open mind.
Engage in respectful and open conversation about the project. Be open about project considerations, potential impacts and opportunities. Clearly explain the project development process and how decisions are made. |
Prioritise transparency |
Share information so stakeholders and
communities can make informed decisions.
Be lawful and provide factually accurate information. |
Build trust-based relationships |
Be respectful and open in all interactions.
Build accountability by providing key points of contact in the project team for responding to queries or concerns in a timely manner. |
Engage in good faith |
Engage with the intent to genuinely understand feedback and respond to this through design development and planning. |
How to get involved
We’ll be out in the community at local events and pop-ups to share information about the proposed project and development process.
The website will be regularly updated with opportunities to meet the team. Check-out our Events section here.
